Fanwork Details:
Betaing: happy to help with spelling, punctuation, and grammar, characterization of characters I'm familiar with or can catch up on quickly, making sure plots make sense and readers can follow the threads, alpha reading (early drafts and development), and will always help with cheerleading!

Sensitivity reading: I can sensitivity read for Jewish characters and traditions, particularly Reform or Reconstructionist Judaism or secular/casual Judaism. I can also sensitivity read for asexual/aromantic characters.

Specialist expertise: I am a wildlife ecologist and am happy to talk about making animals, nature, and ecosystems realistic - whether worldbuilding something sci-fi/fantasy or just checking what you'd find where and how it all works in the real world.

Relevant experience/background:
Several years of betaing friend's fics, primarily Star Wars and D&D-based works; additional grammar practice through professional technical writing.

I practice Reform Judaism and currently attend a Reconstructionist synagogue; my social group includes Conservative and secular Jews as well.

I am asexual and aromantic and have participated in both broadly and more specifically focused LGBTQ+ organizations along my journey to understanding and accepting myself.

I have a PhD in wildlife ecology and currently work as a researcher at an academic institution.

Characters/pairings of interest:
I am most familiar with main characters from Star Wars movies and shows, as well as the Thrawn and Chiss Ascendancy novels. I am also familiar with the main LOTR cast, original Avengers lineup (primarily modern movies), characters from Babylon 5, Star Trek OT/NG/VOY/DS9, Doctor Who, Discworld novels, many other fantasy novels (not so much sci fi novels, unfortunately), and more. I'm also happy to meet new characters!

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
I have broad tastes and am happy to read and edit most things. While I can help with grammar and such on sex scenes, they're not my specialty and I may not be as helpful as other editors.

Unwilling to address:
I will not work with rape/non-con, dubcon, incest, kinks focused on bodily fluids, heavy power dynamics or kinks, or underage pairings.

My goal as an editor of any kind is to support your work and help make it the best it can be - I want to work with you to make sure all the pieces fit together, and I'm happy to learn from you as well as share my own knowledge.

Editing works is a conversation - I primarily work in Google Docs, but may want to chat off-page via discord or email for longer questions and conversations.
