Fanwork Details:
I am offering to write, perform, and record a filk song with
accompaniment on acoustic guitar. Chords/tabs can be provided
afterwards if desired. Alternatively, if you have a previously-written
filk, I can perform it for you!
Characters/pairings of interest:
For TMBD: I love bot characters, Murderbot & Dr. Mensah's
relationship, and the GoodNightLander crew.
For TLT: I am so fascinated by Blood of Eden, Alecto, and the RBs.
These are preferences, and I'm more than willing to do things outside of them!
Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
I'm especially interested in in-universe folk or folk-ish
music. Ballads, sad songs, funny songs, character studies and
cosmological speculation. Alternatively, if you have an
already-written filksong i can perform it for you!
For TMBD: I think a lot about bot culture and space travel. Preservation culture is also fun to play around with.
For TLT: Blood of Eden, as previously mentioned. In-universe religion. House cultures.
These are preferences, and I'm more than willing to do things outside of them!
Unwilling to address:
I can't do anything that requires elaborate sound editing or
multiple voices unless you are volunteering to be the other voice (in
which case, let's go!). Also not interested in writing/performing
"parody" songs that are just an already existing song with a few words
changed. No AUs.
For The Locked Tomb: I'm not really interested in saying nice things about John.
For The Murderbot Diaries: I don't want to do romantic stuff with named canon characters. Ocs or generic, in-universe love songs are fine.
Other notes:
My genre comfort zone is folk, country, and maybe blues or
/very/ soft rock/pop. I'm okay with writing new words to existing
tunes, but you should probably reach out before you bid to make sure
it's one I'm able/willing to mess around with.
I haven't written a song with another person before, so I don't know exactly what the process will be! At the very least I'd like to be able to bounce ideas back and forth, especially because both these series have some vague worldbuilding with a lot of fanon built up. I'd like to make sure we're on the same page.
