Fanwork Details:
Specialist expertise: LAW. I am a lawyer who can provide
both legal expertise/fact-checking and expertise on what it's like
being a lawyer/studying law/law school/bar exam/LSAT. So, if you want
to write a legal/lawyer/law student AU/character and are curious about
what (American) law school/clerking/practice is ACTUALLY like, I can
talk your ear off and help however I can. I can also discuss some of
the French and British processes and practice of law, but I am not as
familiar with them. However, I will gladly help you find the answer.
Translation: English/French
Beta: I am able and willing to beta for SPaG, plot development, flow, and cheerleading. If you are in a fandom whose canon I am familiar with, I can provide assistance with characterization as well. You will get all the feedback you want, I promise.
Relevant experience/background:
Specialist Experience: I have been an attorney for over 8
years, I was raised by lawyers, and I married a lawyer.
Translation: American-French citizen, French mother, fluent in the
language (though a bit rusty for legalese in France)
Beta: I have extensive editing expertise in academia (I received a
degree in journalism so I’m familiar with editing and formatting— and
references which is less relevant here but I am always willing to help
research. Plus, you know, lawyer. 80% of my job is writing and
editing). I am very good at both details (SPaG) and flow editing, as
well as consistency and character development. I also love just being
a cheerleader.
Additional notes about labor offered:
Fandoms where I will be more able to offer characterization
assistance: The Old Guard, Austen, HP (literally all), BG3, Hunger
Games, Leverage, Tolkien (esp LOTR books and movies, but familiar with
all but Rings of Power).
If it's not listed here and you're unsure, feel free to message me and ask!
Also, if you choose me to be your beta and/or translator, I'd like to be able to have at least three DM conversations about what you're looking for (one each before, during and after). Please use a word processing format that has a way for me to leave suggestions and/or comments.
Unwilling to address:
None/it depends. I’m open to most subjects/themes/pairings
and willing to discuss any and all. I know sometimes things are more
relevant to a particular fandom (i.e. gore / major character death in
The Old Guard), so that is easier to work with.
Auctions run from 8:00AM EST, 25 February 2025, to 8:00PM EST, 1 March 2025. Bids before or after this period are invalid and will not be counted. If you would like to bid on this auction:
Step 1: Check the bidding spreadsheet to find out what the current high bid is. (Note: It may take up to five minutes for a bid to appear.)
Step 2: Fill out the creator's bidding form with a bid that is higher than the current high bid. If you want to make it harder for someone to outbid you, bid higher! We will NOT notify you if someone outbids you. FTH will only notify you if you are the high bidder after the auctions end.
