Special interests (what is this?): Aro/ace characters,
Canonically trans or nonbinary chars, F/F ships, Gen (no ship) or
platonic works, Poly ships
Characters/pairings of interest:
Some characters I especially love writing are
librarians/archivists and scientists/medical professionals. I write
mostly femslash for original works but am open to any/all other gender
combinations. My preferred characters are at least a little bit
eccentric and subvert some/all expectations. I'm equally happy writing
shippy and gen stories, and developing and already-established
relationships.
Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
I love anything having to do with libraries/archives and/or
the power of words and stories. I also love magic, especially mundane
magic and unusual magic systems. Some other tropes I like writing are:
found family, strong friendships, worldbuilding, competence, mission
fic, injury and medicine, recovery from injury and/or trauma. I also
like writing different narrative styles including epistolary, unusual
POVs (such as children), and stories with no dialogue.
Unwilling to address:
Major character death (death of a non-main character is
fine, including as a major plot point/theme), unhealthy relationships,
jealousy, alcohol and/or drug use, explicit sex (I will write kink,
but please ask before bidding if you have a specific kink in mind),
unhappy endings, dystopias, zombies.
Other notes:
In terms of style, my stories range from lighthearted and
somewhat absurdist comedy to much more serious works handling darker
themes (in the AO3 works linked above, "A Hell of Your Own Creation"
and "The Soul of the Moment" are the best examples of the two
extremes). I'm happy to write anywhere along that spectrum. My writing
tends to focus on characters and interpersonal relationships. If
you're looking for hard sci-fi or something else with a lot of focus
on very concrete details, I may not be the author for you. My
background is in libraries and cultural heritage spaces, so those are
topics I'm able to explore in any level of detail.
I work best when I have at least a general prompt and likes/dislikes. Beyond that, I'm flexible on how much involvement you want to have. I'm happy to take an initial prompt and run with it, or to have a more collaborative approach to brainstorming and share outlines/drafts along the way.
If you have questions on specific characters/prompts/topics, or on process, feel free to reach out any time before bidding ends.
Auctions run from 8:00AM EST, 25 February 2025, to 8:00PM EST, 1 March 2025. Bids before or after this period are invalid and will not be counted. If you would like to bid on this auction:
Step 1: Check the bidding spreadsheet to find out what the current high bid is. (Note: It may take up to five minutes for a bid to appear.)
Step 2: Fill out the creator's bidding form with a bid that is higher than the current high bid. If you want to make it harder for someone to outbid you, bid higher! We will NOT notify you if someone outbids you. FTH will only notify you if you are the high bidder after the auctions end.
