Questions for the creator? Reach out to them via Tumblr (here)!

If you have a very specific prompt and are not flexible, it's best to contact the creator before bidding, even if it fits within their listed parameters. If you are asking for a specific kink, always ask first.

Minimum Bid: $5

Fanwork Details:
I can beta fan fics or meta and am happy to work with you on any part of the writing process. For both types of writing, I can help with brainstorming or review drafts at any stage of roughness/completeness. For fics, I can help with plotting, characterization, and canon compliance. For meta, I can tell you if your argument is convincing and can help fact-check with canon. And for both types of writing, I can also provide feedback on clarity and flow and can copy-edit for spelling, punctuation, and grammar. (I'll note, though, that I'm only familiar with American conventions as far as spelling, punctuation, and grammar go.) If you just want someone to cheer you on and help you set internal deadlines, I can do that, too! Basically, I'm open to being relatively hands-on or hands-off as a beta reader, depending on what you're looking for.

Relevant experience/background:
This will be my first time offering beta services in a fandom setting, but I have experience working with writers at every stage of the writing process in an academic context.

Characters/pairings of interest:
Only Sherlock Holmes/John Watson OR gen fic

Unwilling to address:
I do not wish to beta anything with omegaverse elements, BDSM, non-con situations between Sherlock and John, or poly ships. I'm open to reading something where Sherlock or John is in a relationship with another character for part of the fic as long as that other relationship isn't the main focus and/or there's still a Johnlock endgame. I'm fine reading fics that contain smut between Sherlock and John, but I won't be able to help much with that aspect of your writing, unfortunately (and please no smut for other pairings). If you have questions, please feel free to message me or send me an ask on tumblr!

Other notes:
I'm open to reading a fic that's inspired by some other work or contains fusion elements, but I won't have specialized knowledge to help with any other fandoms unless it's Harry Potter or Star Trek TNG, DS9, or VOY. Unfortunately I also don't have any specialized knowledge relevant to Sherlock fics (medicine, forensics, etc.). But I am familiar with the original ACD Sherlock Holmes stories!

Auctions run from 8:00AM EST, 25 February 2025, to 8:00PM EST, 1 March 2025. Bids before or after this period are invalid and will not be counted. If you would like to bid on this auction:

Step 1: Check the bidding spreadsheet to find out what the current high bid is. (Note: It may take up to five minutes for a bid to appear.)

Step 2: Fill out the creator's bidding form with a bid that is higher than the current high bid. If you want to make it harder for someone to outbid you, bid higher! We will NOT notify you if someone outbids you. FTH will only notify you if you are the high bidder after the auctions end.

Thanks for participating in Fandom Trumps Hate!
