Medical issues including ligamentous laxity and what's assumed to be Ehler Danlos (undiagnosed), numerous surgeries to my legs, feet, back and abdomen. Escoliosis (partially corrected with surgery). Partial disability (making it so I cannot walk more than a few yards or stand for more than a few minutes at a time). Really poor eyesight. Migraines.

Relevant experience/background:
I am Mexican. So I'm offering to help with Mexican culture.

On the sensitivity reading: once again, I'm Mexican, I have ligamentous laxity (diagnosed since I was very young) and have dealing with issues related to it: including many seriously twisted ankles, getting my left knee dislocated once, my left ankle once, multiple surgeries to my knees, ankles, three to my abdomen (for hernias) and once to my back, this last one due to the 70° escoliosis (my spinal column looked like an S in the x-rays). Have serious myopia, astigmatism and a problem with migraines, usually connected to changes in weather. I also require a cane or wheelchair to walk more than a few yards and cannot be on my feet for long, it's enough that I'm considered to be partially disabled. Recently we've come to assume that I might have Ehler Danlos. It remains officially undiagnosed, but at least two doctors agree that all my issues fit that diagnosis.

I am generally more comfortable working at the scene/story level rather than the sentence level + am happy to offer suggestions as you write to help with the trajectory of the story. Regarding SPaG betaing, I was a history major in undergrad and I have a lot of experience with both writing and peer editing! I'm very comfortable pointing out sentences that don't quite flow, grammatical errors etc. And on the fic side of things, I've been a very frequent beta for some friends of mine + have a lot of experience with talking through character/plot choices, as well as making suggestions for what things should be tweaked to make the story stronger.

Ace Attorney: Can help with anything, but most comfortable/familiar with characters from AA1-4 (though not necessarily in the trilogy era itself--ie, am more comfortable with Narumitsu generally even if your fic is set after AA6, but would be fine betaing a fic about, for example, Rayfa or Athena).

Cosmere: Shakadolin or any permutation thereof (Kaladin is a particular favorite) and Rlainarin (especially Renarin) are my real comfort zone, though I'm happy to read for pretty much any Cosmere characters with the exception of those from Elantris (because it's been too long since I last read it).

K-Pop: In BTS fic I tend to gravitate towards Namjin, though I am comfortable helping with anything! Similar story for Seventeen fic--I gravitate towards any permutation of Seungcheol/Jeonghan/Joshua, and Joshua ships in general, but I am very comfortable with pretty much any combination of members. Same for Tomorrow X Together (preferred ships are Yeonjun/Taehyun and Soobin/Beomgyu)--I am comfortable with any ship, but I do have favorites. For LE SSERAFIM, I really only feel comfortable with Chaewon and Yunjin (as a ship or as main characters).

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
I enjoy reading humor and romcoms and really any material that fits well with my very flat American accent. For this reason, I have a preference for modern settings, but it's not required. In general, I like non-neurotypical POVs, pining, "idiots to lovers" and all kinds of tropes in that direction, and diaspora experiences. On the podfic production side, I like opportunities to use sound effects and music.

I'm still not confident I can pull off reading explicit sex, but I did raise the rating to M this year, versus last year at T.

One of the things I can bring to English-language podfic is moderately better quality pronunciation of Chinese names and words, since I am Chinese-Indonesian-American, but keep in mind that my Chinese is not native quality. If somehow you have Indonesian in your fic, I am native quality in that language, but the work as a whole would still need to be English. I have no confidence I could pull off an entire fic in Indonesian, but my accent is good. I also studied Japanese for many years and am confident in pronouncing Japanese, in case that somehow comes up also.

Unwilling to address:
I'm expecting most deeply kinky material to earn an E rating and therefore not fall under the M rating I've set, but that's mostly what I have a hard line about: scat, piss, lactation kink, etc. I also don't do well with major body horror, particularly involving holes or teeth. If your fic candidate involves some level of body horror, please get in touch with me before or soon after you bid. And I also won't do reader insert.

Other notes:
Please have the fic author's permission to record podfic, either explicit permission to you or blanket permission provided on their profile/website/socials. I'll want this before I start recording, but you needn't have it at the time of bidding or winning the bid. If you can't ultimately secure permission, we may have to settle on a different fic, but let's talk about it when we get there. If your fic is considerably shorter than the limit I set, I may also be able to record more than one for you. We can discuss it further though, I'm pretty easygoing. And if your fic is a little longer than my limit, you can still bring it to me and I'll let you know what I think and how feasible it is that I do it.

Ideally, you'll have a top choice for me to record, but also a backup or two in case there are issues with that fic (author permission, or some topic I have not anticipated). If I haven't read it before, please allow several days for me to review it. If you have some ideas about how the recording should sound, tell me about your wants and expectations early in the process. I'll try to provide at least one sample (a few minutes or a chapter) to start and then try to check in with you periodically as I complete stages (recording, editing, etc.) but I'm such a procrastinator that I don't want to overpromise you regular check-ins, because I felt a bit delinquent about that in 2024, in classic ADHD fashion. Hopefully I am better about that in 2025 than I was in 2024.
