Type of fanwork: Fan labor
Subtype(s): Culture picking, Sensitivity reading, Specialist expertise, Research
Fandom(s): Any
Highest rating: E
Minimum Bid: $5
Audience: All ages
Length/scope: For research assistance and specialist expertise questions, the minimum bid is $5. If you are looking for sensitivity reading of your fic, however, I ask that you bid at least $5 per 10k of writing you'd like me to look over (10k would by a $5 minimum, 20k a $10 minimum, and so on)
Special interests (what is this?): Aro/ace characters, Canonically trans or nonbinary chars, Gen (no ship) or platonic works, Trans or nonbinary interpretations of canon characters

Fanwork Details:
Jewish & American culture-picking, sensitivity reading for Jewish, aromantic, asexual, transgender (especially transmasculine), ADHD, autistic, and chronically and mentally ill characters, as well as writing queerplatonic relationships.

Specialist expertise: Archives and archival work, stringed instruments and orchestras, queer history, scientific & medical history, historical research

Relevant experience/background:
I'm an American Jew, aro/ace and transgender, both ADHD and autistic, and manage chronic physical and mental health conditions like POTS and OCD. I should also add that my queerplatonic partner has severe ME/CFS, or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which I have also become very familiar with.

As far as specialist expertise goes, I'm a grab bag. I've played viola for 16 years; I currently work as an archives assistant in a LGBTQ+ history library & have fairly in-depth knowledge of both archives and queer history; I previously worked in a historical medical library and study the history of science, particularly in Early Modern Europe; I also work for my state's historical society teaching middle and high school students how to do historical research projects, and know of a lot of great research resources that I would love to connect you with as a result!

Additional notes about labor offered:
I do a lot of really in-depth historical research for my own fic (for some particularly relevant examples on Ao3, check out "Go Down to the Netherworld, Plant Grapes," "Stemma Codicum," and "Future Boy") and would love to help you figure out what resources you have access to and how to go about doing solid historical research for media set in other time periods or historical AUs.

I am willing to work with folks writing for any fandom, though if you're looking for a particularly good match, some of my personal favorites include The Locked Tomb, Critical Role, The Owl House, Pentiment, Back to the Future (the movies and musical), Lord of the Rings, Dracula, and Dungeon Meshi.

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
Historical fandoms and AUs; trans male characters; stories about disability and mental illness; asexuality, aromanticism, and queerplatonic relationships; whump and hurt/comfort; friendship; the complexity of identity, personhood, and self-discovery; science fiction and fantasy; elaborate worldbuilding, Jewish characters and Judaism.

Unwilling to address:
While I am comfortable offering my services to those writing sex- and romance-centric works, I am very much sex- and romance-averse myself and will not be able to offer very much feedback on those elements.

Auctions run from 8:00AM EST, 25 February 2025, to 8:00PM EST, 1 March 2025. Bids before or after this period are invalid and will not be counted. If you would like to bid on this auction:

Special interests (what is this?): Ambiguous endings, Aro/ace characters, Canonically trans or nonbinary chars, F/F ships, Gen (no ship) or platonic works, Trans or nonbinary interpretations of canon characters

Fanwork Details:
I can offer SPaG editing, developmental editing, characterization and canon notes, alpha reading, cheer reading, 'Brit-picking', and sensitivity reading with regards to disability, mental health, and LGBTQ identity.

Relevant experience/background:
I have beta'd almost 40 fics across at least three fandoms, and have University-level experience in editing.

Characters/pairings of interest:
I can do anything within Supernatural, Stiles/Derek, Stiles/Peter, Stiles/Scott, and Jaskier/Geralt

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
I can do almost anything, though note I may be less well-versed in smutty tropes. I am particularly interested in angst, hurt/comfort, whump, and can do both AUs or canon-verse fics.

Unwilling to address:
Scat, emetophilia, watersports. Please warn ahead of time for animal death, permanent memory loss, and eating disorders or disordered eating.

Organizations this auction benefits: Bidder's choice of any of the listed groups (See full list.)

Type of fanwork: Fan labor
Subtype(s): Betaing, Culture picking, Specialist expertise
Fandom(s): Any
Highest rating: E
Minimum Bid: $15
Audience: 18+ only
Length/scope: More than 50k words
Special interests (what is this?): Ambiguous endings, F/F ships, Gen (no ship) or platonic works, Unhappy endings

Fanwork Details:
American, Great Lakes Midwestern (lower)-middle class life experience, Pacific Northwest rural life experience, scientific knowledge (biology, endocrinology, genetics, microbiology, immunology, infectious disease ecology, virology, entomology, others as special interests but without formal training), higher-education academic experience, laboratory research experience

Relevant experience/background:
I'm a midwestern-born American (rural great lakes state) who has a post-secondary (Master's) degree in molecular biology, microbiology, and biochemistry and have worked in an academic research lab for the past 10+ years. I lived in the Pacific Northwest of the USA for most of those years of experience (recently moved back to the midwest), so I can talk about/fact check as needed for that region as well. I love thinking about the sci-fi future of science and medicine and always have such a fun time coming up with the cool science behind some plot-phenomena in a story, keeping it as accurate and close to real life as you wish, but it's also fun to run off the rails and make up some plausible science to explain things too.

Additional notes about labor offered:
I'm also up for doing a more general alpha/beta read through a piece. I've beta read a lot for other fandom events, so am good at working on a deadline. Alpha reading to me means assisting more with flow, characterization, plot, etc. while beta reading is less development/making sure things are working and more about catching spag/plot holes.

Characters/pairings of interest:
Teen Wolf (Sterek), Star Trek (TOS, AOS, SNW; Spirk aka K/S), The Witcher (Geraskier), The Expanse, BBC Sherlock (Johnlock), BBC Merlin (Merthur), Harry Potter (Drarry), Daniel Craig's James Bond movies (00Q), The Evil Dead (Arthur/Ash), Re-Animator (Danbert), Underworld, Daredevil, Venom (Symbrock), MCU (Stucky).

While I'm good with providing general science/med information to any fandom that requires it (especially for sci-fi/fantasy angst and whump works!), for more in-depth assistance and alpha/beta reading above spag, I feel I'll only be able to do a great job if it's from one of the above listed fandoms, but I'm open to reading/assisting with other pairings beyond those specifically listed.

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
Slow burn, angst, whump (both with and without comfort), body horror, gore, ABO (and most of everything that goes along with it), creature fics, meet cutes, getting together, gratuitous violence, pwp (both iterations lmao), and just characters that are really in their heads about it all.

My AO3 works and bookmarks are a good place to see if there's something in particular I'm into, but hopefully the above list is complete enough. I also do reach for fluff and domestic fics every now and then. I will also reach for everything in-between! As long as there's not an overabundance of one of my squicks in your work, I'll be honored to read and edit for you! :)

Unwilling to address:
Squicks include BDSM, dom/sub, bathroom kinks, daddy kinks, sugar daddy/baby relationships, but I am willing to edit works with them if it's not overly represented in the piece.

Other notes:
I'm a slow reader by nature, so when I'm reading to provide edits/feedback (even cheereading!) I read even slower, to really allow things to marinate and for me to provide the best notes on your work that I can. I feel this is a feature and not a bug, but it does mean that really tight deadlines and turnaround times are hard for me to accomplish. But, if I have a free weekend available, I love nothing better than to sit and read!

As for communication - with longer works, delving into it piecemeal helps to facilitate more of a dialogue between you and me, but with pieces less than 20k, usually sending one draft with the whole work is good. After I've read through a chapter or work once, I do like to go back and re-read pieces and may provide additional feedback with those re-reads.

I also find Discord to be the best place to communicate for these projects - especially if you write in a word processing software, since it's so easy to send docs via dms - however, I'm open to other means of communication!

Beta: characterization, pacing, plot development, general clarity and coherence Culture picking: USA, including specifically the Southeast and the West Coast Specialist expertise: academia. Sensitivity reading: asexual characters, ADHD, head trauma/concussions

Relevant experience/background:
Instructor teaching essay writing, including to people who speak English as a second language, ace spectrum, adult-diagnosed ADHD, 7+ years of graduate-level academic research experience

Additional notes about labor offered:
Betaing: if you are very concerned about every comma and semicolon, I may not be the best option, but I am good at working with intelligibility, catching spelling mistakes, and helping the writing flow. I am also available for plot brainstorming and working to create a consistent style (i.e., historical, imitating a certain author, etc)

Culture picking: In addition to general US culture/language services (how does the education system work? Where do USAmericans go for X activity or service? Do you say "cell phone" or "mobile"?), I am happy to work with things like geography and place names for the specific regions listed. This includes where people travel, what they call their methods of transportation, where would it make sense for a certain person to live/work/etc. I can also check regional dialects and customs for accuracy. I have some experience with history, especially queer history, in the regions listed.

Specialist expertise: In addition to my own experience in academia in the humanities, I have many friends and colleagues in different fields and academic systems. I can talk about what the advertised and actual paths are for different disciplines, as well as what day to day life looks like for a graduate student, PhD student, and professor. I can talk about the differences between different jobs in various types of institutions, including in different countries.

Research: if you are writing about a specific topic or profession that no one has offered help for, I have lots of experience finding information and have access to academic institutions that have resources not easily available to the public. I specialize in queer history, British and American history, the history and effects of colonialism, and historical literature.

Sensitivity Reading: I am happy to offer feedback on the portrayal of ace characters, including ace or ace spectrum characters who enter romantic or sexual relationships. I am also happy to look for if an ADHD character's thoughts seem realistic, how medication might impact them, what they might do instead of medication, and what the diagnosis process is like. If you want to write realistic head injuries, I can discuss treatment and recovery for minor and moderate concussions. This includes immediate reactions, what kinds of medical professionals are involved, length of recovery, and common related injuries.

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:

I really like sharing the knowledge I have and learning about new experiences, so I'm absolutely here to help you research that niche topic you're writing about. If you have any questions about if what you want help with would be a good fit for my skills, feel free to reach out on tumblr!

Fandom(s): Sherlock Holmes: Arthur Conan Doyle stories, BBC Sherlock, Robert Downey Jr Movies, Sherlock & Co.

Minimum Bid: $10
Audience: All ages

Fanwork Details:
Brit-picking, specialist expertise on knitting and UK higher education. General beta reading.

Relevant experience/background:
Brit-picking - I've lived in the north of England my entire life. I provided brit picking services for FTH2024 and happily worked with two different authors on 3 different fics and had good feedback from them.

Knitting expertise: I'm a prolific knitter who has made hundreds of projects including socks, lace shawls, and fitted jumpers. I've also written sock knitting patterns that are available on Ravelry and have been used for many projects.

UK higher education: I've worked in the sector for well over a decade.

Beta-reading: Although I'm not a grammar expert, I've written and proofread documents and meeting minutes for years and have a lot of experience at gently pointing out typos and slightly clunky wording! As mentioned above, I did beta reading and brit-picking for last year's FTH and had a great time working with some really talented authors.

Characters/pairings of interest:
I'm mostly a Johnlocker, but I will happily read pretty much any pairing.

Unwilling to address:
I am a giant wimp, so anything incredibly terrifying is not for me, but I'm fine with a bit dark or creepy. I haven't done much reading of Omegaverse stories, so if you are wanting expertise in that area, I am probably not the person you are after.

Other notes:
I'm very happy to work with the bidder in the way that works best for them. Previous beta reading I have done has been through Google docs and they just give me a heads up when the next chapter is ready to read. I'm a fast reader and I can usually get back to the writer quite quickly.

Subtype(s): Betaing, Culture picking, Sensitivity reading, Specialist expertise
Fandom(s): Any
Highest rating: E
Minimum Bid: $5
Audience: All ages
Length/scope: More than 50k words
Special interests (what is this?): Aro/ace characters, F/F ships, Gen (no ship) or platonic works, Poly ships, Trans or nonbinary interpretations of canon characters

Fanwork Details:
Hello! I have a few services/areas of expertise I can offer to assist your writing/fanworks. See further down for more detail on each of these! Broadly, these include betaing for any stages of the process, culture picking (Australia), sensitivity reading for LGBTQ+ characters or experiences, especially asexual/aromantic/aspec experiences. Additionally, general sensitivity reading for disability awareness and experiences. Speciality & hobby wise - medical & allied health knowledge, hospital and outpatient settings, and both expertise and sensitivity reading for certain medical conditions including neurodivergence, diabetes, stroke, blindness. Hobbies wise - sewing, knitting, crocheting.

Betaing: Happy to help with planning, grammar and spelling and cohesion, cheerleading etc. May not necessarily be able to assist with characterization/canon compliance, as it will depend on my knowledge of the fandom.

Culture picking: Australian, so Australian english and slang, sayings and culture. Additionally, both city (Melbourne) and rural/country/farming life and culture.

Expertise: how hospitals work, both emergency and wards, inpatient and outpatient. experience of and treatments for diabetes, stroke (including rehab), blindness, ADHD. Caveat that my experience is with the Australian health system.

Relevant experience/background:
For sensitivity reading - I am a member of the queer community so can offer feedback in this area, with the caveat that experiences may vary. Similarly to disability sensitivity reading - I work in the health and disability sector, and have a masters degree in Speech Pathology, as well as my own lived experience of disability and my family's medical shenanigans.

For expertise reading/picking - as above, I have a masters degree in allied health (speech pathology) and have a lot of experience in hospital and clinic settings as both a patient and staff/provider. I have learnt a lot about general medicine through this; additionally, my sister is a doctor (currently working in a hospital) so I may pick her brain for info if I am unsure! I currently work in the health/disability field. General caveat - this is with the Australian health system, so I can assist with medical knowledge, but not so much about the American hospital system, for instance.

I also have a background in linguistics (need help getting your fictional language to work?) including child language acquisition (want to know how a character raised by wolves would behave/talk?). I also have all kinds of crafty hobbies, so if you want to know anything/check the accuracy of anything to do with sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting etc, I can do that too.

Characters/pairings of interest:
No preference. Happy to work with any fandoms/characters/pairings - I just won't be able to check characterisation/canon compliance for fandoms I am not well versed in.

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
No preference

Unwilling to address:
Nothing explicit involving underage characters. No fanfic involving real people (i.e. RPF).

Other notes:
Happy to work collaboratively throughout your process of creating, or just be a final look over once you've finished writing. Whatever level of assistance you need!

Beta services: primarily SPAG and sentence-level flow Culture-picking: America-picking, focusing on the Upper Midwest Sensitivity reading: autism

Relevant experience/background:
Beta services: I am a professional freelance copy editor and proofreader. Culture-picking: I have lived in the Upper Midwest for most of my life. I have primarily lived in urban areas, but I went to college in a small town in a very rural area, so I have that experience as well. Sensitivity reading: I am autistic. Every autistic person has a different experience and a different combination of symptoms, so I can’t provide a universal perspective, but I can provide my own experience and ask other autistic people if needed.

Additional notes about labor offered:
I am willing to work with a fic longer than 20k if you only send me the most relevant parts, so that what I’m reviewing stays under 20k. Also, I’ve offered this before and I’ve gotten some unexpected requests from bidders, so here are two notes: 1) I want to work with YOUR fic, so please don’t bid on this and then try to transfer my fan labor to someone else, because that gets messy and isn’t what Fandom Trumps Hate is for, and 2) I want to read a draft of your fic--I’m happy to help with brainstorming if you want culture-picking or sensitivity reading, but I’d also like to read a draft once you have one. I hope that if you bid on this, you want my insights and feedback, because I like being communicative, answering questions, and sharing what I know!

Characters/pairings of interest:
Any, except what’s mentioned in my Unwilling to Address section! I really love queer, trans, and neurodivergent readings of characters and am especially happy to help with those.

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
Some tropes I love include getting together, mutual pining, found family, hurt/comfort, established relationships, fluff, and friendship. Themes and subjects include neurodivergence, queerness, and solidarity.

Unwilling to address:
Sex; workplace romances; romantic relationships with large age gaps; dubcon; noncon; incest between siblings or between a parent and a child; infidelity; abuse in a romantic, sexual, or familial relationship; unhappy endings/pure angst; graphic self-harm; graphic violence; horror; positive portrayals of police or slavery; breaking up canon couples in fandoms I’m familiar with (most of the time--if you want me to do fan labor for a fic that breaks up a canon couple, please check with me before bidding).

Other notes:

Length/scope: I suggest $1 USD per 1000 words (or equivalent) of the work the labor will be performed for, but I also understand that some contributors will not be able to meet this, thus, a suggestion, not a demand.
Special interests (what is this?): Aro/ace characters, Canonically trans or nonbinary chars, F/F ships, Poly ships, Rarepairs, Trans or nonbinary interpretations of canon characters

Fanwork Details:
I am offering familiarity with the regions and cultures of the Great Lakes and Pacific Northwest areas of the United States.

I am offering specialist expertise on the practice and organization of public libraries and their programming as well as some of the common and uncommon issues that arise in the practice of librarianship and the operation of a library.

I can speak to sport culture and rules of various sports as played in the United States, as well as the differences between many of the amateur and professional levels and leagues of sport. (Not specifically enough for RPF fandoms.)

I am offering the experience of one person with the neurodivergence known as Attention Defecit/Hyperactivity Disorder, or Variable Attention Stimulus Trait.

In the betaing process, I can help with idea and plot development (usually through the process of asking questions about what the creator is interested in), spelling, punctuation, and grammar (SPaG) for US English, cheerleading, check-ins, and accountability partnering, and reading and marking up drafts for coherence, plot, and other elements. If it happens to be in a canon I am familiar with, I may be able to provide more in-depth comments in these areas.

Relevant experience/background:
I have lived significant amounts of my life in both the Great Lakes and Pacific Northwest regions of the United States.

I am a practicing public librarian of more than a decade and a half, with experience in programming and navigating the bureaucracy that comes with an organizational structure.

I have been following sport for a significant amount of time, but I do not have a great amount of expertise regarding specific teams and their statistical categories. I am more likely to be able to offer a not terrible explanation of the offside rule in association football rather than Stan Musial's batting average in any given year.

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
I really like poking into the world and seeing what falls out or examining spaces that are hinted at in the canon but otherwise left to exist in the world and interact. Characters coming into their competence or discovering hidden depths are always fun, and I do like figuring out what the parts of characters are that will still shine through in different settings, alternate universes, or for pairings that don't follow the canon.

Unwilling to address:
I have no interest in stories inside the incest taboo. I'm leery of abusive relationships uncritically portrayed as positive. (I do not consider consensual kink inherently abusive.) I'm not interested in watersports or scat as kinks or things to be explored.

Other notes:
I will do my best to be helpful, but if you would like something more than readability and SPaG for your work, I will probably need a source where I can consume the canon, or at least the parts of the canon most relevant to your work.

Fanwork Details:
Mexican Culture,

Medical issues including ligamentous laxity and what's assumed to be Ehler Danlos (undiagnosed), numerous surgeries to my legs, feet, back and abdomen. Escoliosis (partially corrected with surgery). Partial disability (making it so I cannot walk more than a few yards or stand for more than a few minutes at a time). Really poor eyesight. Migraines.

Relevant experience/background:
I am Mexican. So I'm offering to help with Mexican culture.

On the sensitivity reading: once again, I'm Mexican, I have ligamentous laxity (diagnosed since I was very young) and have dealing with issues related to it: including many seriously twisted ankles, getting my left knee dislocated once, my left ankle once, multiple surgeries to my knees, ankles, three to my abdomen (for hernias) and once to my back, this last one due to the 70° escoliosis (my spinal column looked like an S in the x-rays). Have serious myopia, astigmatism and a problem with migraines, usually connected to changes in weather. I also require a cane or wheelchair to walk more than a few yards and cannot be on my feet for long, it's enough that I'm considered to be partially disabled. Recently we've come to assume that I might have Ehler Danlos. It remains officially undiagnosed, but at least two doctors agree that all my issues fit that diagnosis.

Unwilling to address:
I'd prefer not to be involved in any project that has themes of infidelity, child abuse, excess of violence, tragedy, gore or unhappy endings. If in doubt, the bidder is welcome to ask, I'm available on Discord.

Other notes:
I'm willing to answer questions about any of the topics listed above. Either involving past experiences, or even hypothetical situations. If the bidder would require me to read over a work of theirs that would require more time and we'd need to talk the details out (like how long their work is, how long it'll take me to read it, how fast they'll need me to do so).

Fanwork Details:
I'm offering my services as an alpha or beta reader! In addition to the Alpha/Beta reading - when and if you post your fic I will also leave a review. Whether you need someone to cheer you on, tell you all the best parts of your fic and what makes it great, or you're looking for someone to help you plot and bounce ideas off of, I'm your girl. I love reading and plotting good fic, and the best part of working as an alpha/beta reader is that I don't have to write it! I can be just a cheer reader/beta who reads your finished work (grammar, spelling, structure, characterization etc) or an Alpha reader helping you with brainstorming and ideas along the way, or a mix of both.

I can also do light Brit picking (used to live in the UK for several years) and have specific knowledge of working in academia and healthcare if you want to pick my brains about that. Also have experience with parenthood of young kids.

I'm pretty much down to read everything in the Good Omens fandom, though if it's Human AU you're plotting then all the better! FYI, I'm comfortable with even the smuttiest of smut!

Relevant experience/background:
I write and review non-fiction for a living as an academic. I have also been alpha/beta reading for CemeteryAngel725 for the past year and I'm sure she can attest to the number of times I've helped her get unblocked or cheered her on.

Characters/pairings of interest:
Pretty much any of the Good Omens pairings but I do love Aziraphale and Crowley the best

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
I'm open to most things! Love Human AU and Omegaverse. Enjoy a good trope. Coming out stories have a special place in my heart. Explicit content and smut is fine.

Unwilling to address:
I'm really open but perhaps just ask if you want to write about something that might ick a lot of people

Length/scope: 20 - 50k words
Special interests (what is this?): Aro/ace characters, Gen (no ship) or platonic works, Genderswap/genderbending, Poly ships, Rarepairs, Trans or nonbinary interpretations of canon characters

Fanwork Details:
Beta reading: American English. I can help with SPaG, characterization, plot development, alpha reading, cheerleading, etc.

Culture picking: American-picking. More specifically, I can help with works set in Southern California if you want your fic to have more verisimilitude than the average sitcom. If you need specific info about something in the Greater Los Angeles area, I can go fact-check in person for you.

Sensitivity reading: Asexual, aromantic, and agender (/nonbinary/trans). Comfortable with smut/explicit work.

Specialist expertise: Employment in movie theaters, as a camp counselor, and in a small company office. Hobbies include theatre (tech and some acting), choir, hiking, geocaching, and extensive road tripping. I've visited 15+ US states and national parks. I play guitar, ukulele, and handbells. I'm not blind/VI, but my family raised guide dog puppies for years, so I can offer insight into that process.

Relevant experience/background:
Beta reading: I have a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Gender Studies (and more! It was an interesting program; feel free to ask for details if you win my auction). I have beta reading experience with several different authors and a broad familiarity with many fandoms.

Sensitivity reading: I've been active in ace, aro, and trans communities in person and online for around a decade, so even if my specific flavor of those identities doesn't match up with what you're writing, chances are I've been friends with someone who does.

Specialist expertise: For the purpose of travel fic, I can offer tourist-level knowledge of the following US states: CA, AZ, AR, CO, GA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MO, NV, NM, NY, OH, OK, OR, WA. Countries (mostly big cities): England, France, Greece, Italy, Spain. US national parks: Carlsbad Caverns, Death Valley, Grand Canyon, Guadalupe Mountains, Joshua Tree, Mammoth Cave, North Cascades, Petrified Forest, Pinnacles, Redwood, Saguaro, Sequoia & Kings Canyon, White Sands, Yosemite.

For the purpose of pet fic, I've owned cats, dogs (including guide dogs in training), hamsters, rabbits, cockatiels, freshwater turtles, a desert tortoise, hermit crabs, and fire-bellied toads.

Characters/pairings of interest:
Currently into Winterhawk, Wangxian, and the Batfamily, but I'll read anything.

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
I have a particular fondness for canon divergence, magical realism, and space/science fiction AUs, but no need to stick to those.

Unwilling to address:
Extreme underage (14 or below) and grooming, scatological and piss kinks, bestiality, pregnancy fic (incidental pregnancy is fine), reader insert, Harry Potter.

Other notes:
I'm used to working through Google Docs comments, but I'm happy to adjust to whatever you use. I can offer as much or as little input as you want—just let me know and I'll tailor my feedback to your preferences, including my tone and potential use of enthusiastic capslock.

Special interests (what is this?): Ambiguous endings, Canonically trans or nonbinary chars, F/F ships, Poly ships, Trans or nonbinary interpretations of canon characters, Unhappy endings

Fanwork Details:
Culture picking: general American culture, Texas, the Deep South, the U.S. military, the 1980s/1990s. Sensitivity reading: I'm a survivor of intimate partner violence and rape/sexual assault and have done original research on interpersonal violence in an academic and professional capacity. Specialist expertise: I have a doctorate in educational psychology with an emphasis on social psychology, trauma, and attitudes toward survivors; I have firsthand experience as a psychotherapist in a trainee capacity (I was not licensed but did this type of work for five years) and experience with the following: graduate school and other academic settings, empirical social science research, indie music subcultures, knitting and other fiber crafts, and baking; I also have a good base of knowledge on 19th-century literature.

Relevant experience/background:
I have been a professional proofreader at a couple of different jobs. I have a PhD in educational psychology and have received specific training in a wide variety of psychology topics including therapy and assessment. I've done empirical social science research as a graduate student and a professional researcher. I've been an avid participant in a variety of hobbies and activities. I have provided proofreading and localization help in the past to a fansubber who spoke fluent English and Japanese but wasn't a native English speaker and thus needed help avoiding errors and making English dialogue sound realistic and natural.

Additional notes about labor offered:
When I do proofreading, I'm happy to adjust my level of scrutiny to whatever the writer prefers. In other words, I can go over everything with a fine-toothed comb, I can be more selective about what I comment on, or I can focus exclusively on certain things. When offering culture-picking, sensitivity reading, or specialist expertise, if subject matter comes up that I'm not already thoroughly familiar with I'm always happy to consult sources and ask my personal and professional networks for input. In fact, if I have the slightest doubt about something it's my habit to consult sources for confirmation. I do the same kind of background research when providing localization help.

Characters/pairings of interest:
I'm much more flexible when it comes to the characters and pairings I work with when offering fan services than I am when I'm writing original work. Helping others with works that are different from what I usually write and read seems like a good opportunity to expand my horizons.

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
See above; I'm open to a wide variety of possibilities.

Unwilling to address:
I prefer not to work on material involving incest, especially incest involving twins. More ambiguous cases in which characters are related by marriage, by adoption later in life, etc. are generally fine. While I actively welcome material involving nonconsensual sexual contact if the creator's intention is to represent such contact sensitively—interpersonal violence is my wheelhouse, after all—I'm not willing to work with material involving unapologetic nonconsensual contact that is endorsed by the implied author of the work—in other words, if the nonconsensual activity seems to be excused, justified, or treated as unimportant by the text.

Other notes:
I enjoy collaboration and value specific requests and feedback. I'm curious by nature and flexible about trying new things as long as I have enough information to do what's needed.

Auctions run from 8:00AM EST, 25 February 2025, to 8:00PM EST, 1 March 2025. Bids before or after this period are invalid and will not be counted. If you would like to bid on this auction:

Step 1: Check the bidding spreadsheet to find out what the current high bid is. (Note: It may take up to five minutes for a bid to appear.)

Step 2: Fill out the creator's bidding form with a bid that is higher than the current high bid. If you want to make it harder for someone to outbid you, bid higher! We will NOT notify you if someone outbids you. If you would like to track changes to this bidding sheet, select Tools -> Notification Settings. Email notifications may not be immediate, so we do not recommend relying on them near the end of the auction period. Bookmark this sheet so you can check it manually. FTH will only notify you if you are the high bidder after the auctions end.

Fandom(s): Merlin; Dead Boy Detectives; Suits
Highest rating: E
Minimum Bid: $5

Fanwork Details:
Beta - I can help with any element of betaing. My strengths are in cheerleading (I always leave positive comments as I beta), SPaG, sentence and paragraph flow, and plot holes. I beta for people whose first language isn't English a lot. I tend to do a detailed beta and leave a lot of thoughts and suggestions. I'm happy to beta/help with smut scenes.

Britpicking - I'm British and can personally remember the 1980s onwards (!). I can Britpick for language and/or cultural references

Relevant experience/background:
I have betaed or Britpicked scores of fics, from 1k to 150k, for first time writers through to people who've been writing for decades

Characters/pairings of interest:
For Suits Marvey should be the main pairing but other side pairings including those involving Mike and Harvey are okay. For Merlin any pairing - I especially like any pairing that includes Arthur including Merthur. For Dead Boy Detectives any pairing.

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
For Merlin I prefer fics that are not canon era, but I will work on canon era fics under 20k

Unwilling to address:
No physical or psychological torture or horror. No unhappy endings, but open or ambiguous endings are okay. Whump and heavy angst in moderation please - if that's the main theme of your fic it probably isn't for me, but some within the arc of the story is welcome. I'm open to dubcon or noncon if it fits the parameters above.

Other notes:
I can do an alpha read initially and then a beta later, if wanted. You can bid for me to beta or Britpick or both. Please bear in mind, for longer fics I'll need more time. I can usually do up to 5k in two to three days. For longer fics typically 10-20k a week, but it does vary a lot depending on people's writing. If there's a deadline and I have warning it's coming I'll do my best to meet it.

If a writer whose first language isn’t English and they want assistance with idioms, language, sounding more like a “native” speaker, I am very happy to assist! I am a native speaker of American English, which is the primary English framework I’d be examining their work through.

Additionally, I am happy to help with joke punch-ups!

I have beta’d for a few mutuals in the Yuri!!! Fanwork Details:
Culture picking: Italian Translation: To or from Italian Betaing: Plot development, cheerleading, a bit of SPaG Specialist expertise: Receptionist in a hotel

Relevant experience/background:
I'm not a translator, but I have a master's degree in translation and Italian is my mother tongue. I've translated several things to and from French and German for university and last year I translated a fic from English. I have betaed before (SPaG), but mainly in Italian and a little bit in French. I work in a hotel in Italy as a receptionist.

Additional notes about labor offered:
Culture picking, Translation and Specialist expertise: I'm Italian, born and grown up in Italy. I went to school and university here and I still live in Italy, so I can be useful for fanfictions with an Italian setting or with an Italian or half-Italian character. In addition to Italian, I'm fluent in French, good in English and average in German. I can also help in these languages, as I speak all of them at work, but not regarding their cultures. I'm a receptionist in a hotel in Italy, so I can help with both tourism-focused translations and fanfictions set in hotels. I work at the reception desk, but I still know the dynamics of a hotel and the various job roles within it, however less well than mine.

Betaing: I'm confident in my English, but I can't guarantee the accuracy of a native speaker regarding the grammatical part of beta reading and that's why I offer my help for the plot development. If I know the fandom it will certainly help more with characters' characterisation as well, but I don't need to know the fandom to give advice on plot alone (it's not a problem for me if it's not a problem for you). I would love to cheer for you, if that's what you're looking for! I can also look up sources and information for you.

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
I particularly (but not only) love found family, soulmates AU and fake dating. Some of my current fandoms are: The Simon Snow series (CO, WS, AWTWB and Snow for Christmas), The All for the Game trilogy, Haikyuu, Doctor Who (especially the 10th and 11th Doctors), Dandadan.

Unwilling to address:
Incest, major character death, suicide, sex scenes involving urine and/or feces, sex scenes involving dead people, teacher/student, child/adult, graphic non-con/rape (I'm alright with it if it's implied, referenced or only briefly described). I may be able to negotiate some of them depending on the situation, so feel free to DM me!

Type of fanwork: Fan labor
Subtype(s): Betaing, Culture picking, Sensitivity reading, Specialist expertise, Translation
Fandom(s): Any
Highest rating: E
Minimum Bid: $5
Audience: All ages
Length/scope: Translation: Less than 1k words. Everything else: Depends how much the bidder contributes.
Special interests (what is this?): Aro/ace characters, Canonically trans or nonbinary chars, F/F ships, Gen (no ship) or platonic works, Poly ships, Trans or nonbinary interpretations of canon characters

Fanwork Details:
Betaing: I am able to offer beta-reading for either American or British English. I typically offer a more technical beta-reading for spelling, grammar, word choice and overall sentence structure. As part of this, I may additionally be able to provide a handful of suggestions/concrit, if I am familiar with the fandom. However, I am not generally comfortable offering in-depth review/concrit of the story's plot, characterisation, style choices, etc., so if this is something you're seeking, you may be better suited to a different beta reader.

Culture-picking: I can offer culture-picking for the USA, and especially the East Coast, as well as Colorado. Additionally, I can offer a lighter culture-picking for the UK (specifically southern England) and Spain, though if you are looking for either of these exclusively, I might first look into others who may have more in-depth/native experience.

Translation: I am able to offer translation from English into Spanish or vice versa. However, due to the specific complexity required, I am limiting this offering to works of roughly 1k or less.

Sensitivity reading: I am able to offer sensitivity reading as part of the following communities/life experiences:
-The LGBTQ community as a whole, and specifically the trans (male), bisexual, and queer experiences, as well as experience with ENM and the asexual spectrum
-The disabled community as a whole, and specifically experience with mental health conditions including a spectrum of anxiety and depressive disorders, PTSD and CPTSD. I may also be able to provide a lighter reading of invisible chronic pain conditions, though this is dependent on the nature of your work
-The neurodivergent community as a whole, and specifically experience of ADHD
-Adverse childhood experiences and parental abuse
-School shootings (this is subject to discussion, and is only offered depending on the nature of your work)
-Growing up and living as a fat person
-Moving/adjusting to a new country and culture as a teenager (and adult), including studying abroad
-Christianity as a whole, and specifically Lutheranism

Specialist expertise: I am able to offer general expertise in the American and British foster care systems, from multiple perspectives - as a service user, foster carer, and social worker. I am especially familiar with the services surrounding teenagers.

Relevant experience/background:
Betaing: I have been reviewing/editing/beta-reading on and off for the past decade. This has included both fanfiction and original work, though I have more experience with fanfiction. I also co-founded my school's first writing club, which I lead for a number of years. As part of this, a significant portion of time was spent reviewing and editing others' work.

Culture-picking: I am originally from the USA, originally growing up on the East Coast and spending my formative years in Colorado. I now live in southern England, and I originally moved here as a minor, so I have also spent a significant (formative) portion of my life here. Finally, through my degree, studying abroad, and significant involvement with the language and culture through my wife and her family, I have a cultural and linguistic understanding of Spain. I am also able to run more in-depth queries by my wife for her native expertise.

Translation: I am a native English speaker educated to a degree level, and proficient to roughly a B2 level in Spanish, which was also a significant portion of my degree. Part of this degree was spent learning translation from both languages. Additionally, my wife is a native Spanish speaker from Spain who also grew up fluent in English. Any translation I provide (whether English into Spanish or vice versa) will be checked by my wife for accuracy (and, in the case of English into Spanish, to ensure the sentences flow at a native level).

Sensitivity reading: All of the listed topics and communities are those I have lived experience of, in order to offer the most authentic voice I am able to. I have spent a significant portion of time within each of the communities, including volunteering with others whose experiences differ significantly from my own.

Specialist expertise: In addition to significant amounts of volunteering, research, and lived experiences, I am currently undergoing certification to become a foster carer, and am a prospective social worker.

Additional notes about labor offered:
I am happy to offer any/all of the selected fan labour as part of the same package for the winning bid, with the exception of beta-reading for Spanish works, as I am not a native speaker and therefore do not feel comfortable providing this. Adicionalmente, podemos comunicar en español, pero a veces prefiero usar ingles para los sujectos más complicado (ej. "sensitivity reading").

Unwilling to address:
Actual, graphic non-con (explicitly stated CNC is fine) and extreme underage, extreme violence/torture/gore, cannibalism, HNC/situations of general hopelessness/tearjerkers, non-canon-compliant MCD (or canon-compliant MCD where the entire focus of the fic is on the death), body horror, mind fuck, extreme substance abuse, bugs, furry, feeding/feederism, foot fetish, wet and messy/"gross" smut fics.

Auctions run from 8:00AM EST, 25 February 2025, to 8:00PM EST, 1 March 2025. Bids before or after this period are invalid and will not be counted. If you would like to bid on this auction:

Type of fanwork: Fan labor
Subtype(s): Betaing, Culture picking, Editing
Fandom(s): Supernatural; Original Work
Highest rating: E
Minimum Bid: $5
Audience: All ages
Length/scope: For fanfiction: up to 50k. For original fiction: up to 75k.
Special interests (what is this?): Ambiguous endings, Aro/ace characters, F/F ships, Gen (no ship) or platonic works, Unhappy endings

Fanwork Details:
Beta reading for fanfiction: I’ll beta read a single completed fanfic of up to 50k words. I’ll do 1 thorough, top-to-bottom pass on the work, plus another 1-2 passes to help you take care of anything that crops up during my beta read that might result in rewriting or reworking. My beta reading work encompasses: general discussions and troubleshooting; concept, plot, and structure; canon details and characterization; tone, pacing, flow, etc.; consistency/continuity; clarity with wording/visualization; spelling, punctuation, and grammar.

Editing original fiction: I’ll read a single piece of completed original fiction of up to 75k words, and write an editorial letter/manuscript evaluation for you. An editorial letter is a highly personalized, in-depth analysis of your story. This type of edit is developmental/conceptual—it talks about the work as a whole, in big-picture ways. No line edits or adjustments to the text itself are being done. While an editorial letter typically includes some positive feedback, it focuses on constructive criticism. The contents are entirely customized to whatever is going on in your story; I offer my insights as well as possible options for addressing weaknesses or issues. If this sounds scary, don’t worry! I’m very gentle, and the goal is to deliver useful, actionable feedback that you can use to create a stronger draft. I highly recommend this type of edit if you’re looking to pitch your story to agents and/or seek traditional publication. The market rate for an editorial letter is easily several hundred dollars at minimum, so this is a steal!

Culture: USA and UK

Relevant experience/background:
Fanfiction: I've posted over 100k words' worth of my own fanfiction on AO3, and I've beta read over 300k words' worth of fanfiction for other authors. I've written a well-received guide to beta reading for both authors and beta readers. (You can find that on my AO3 account, too!)

Original fiction: I'm a Staff Editor for Duck Prints Press, an independent press that publishes original fiction by authors of fanfiction! I've been involved with the Press since October 2022 and I've worked with 8 different authors to edit 9 short stories that have been published in 3 of our physical and e-book anthologies. I'm currently editing an additional 3 short stories and a novel of 100k+ words. As a freelance editor, I've edited several short stories and a few novels. I have experience working on novel-length fanfics that were turned into original stories.

Culture: I'm originally from the United States, and I’ve lived in the United Kingdom for several years. I can assist ESL authors with US English, and I have considerable familiarity with American/British cultural differences, as well as the linguistic differences between US English and British English.

Additional notes about labor offered:
This auction is for ONE service: either beta reading a fanfic, or writing an editorial letter for a work of original fiction.

The fanfic/original work should be complete when it's sent to me. If you’re not finished writing yet, no worries! Keep working away, but be sure you can get your story to me by the deadlines below. The later part of the year will likely be quite busy for me, so these deadlines ensure I’ll be able to manage my workload.

For fanfiction: I’ll need to receive your completed fanfic no later than October 20.

For original fiction: I’ll need to receive your completed manuscript no later than November 3.

If you’re slightly over the maximum word counts given, contact me and we can discuss!

Characters/pairings of interest:
I have no strong preferences, but in terms of pairings I particularly enjoy Dean/Castiel, Claire/Kaia, and Sam/Eileen.

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
Whether it’s fanfic or original fiction, I’m very open! I have no strong preferences, and I’m okay with reading darker content, dub-con, non-con, major character death, unhappy endings, etc. But here are some things I particularly enjoy:

For fanfiction: canonverse stories, angst, and angel Castiel.

For original fiction: genre fiction, speculative fiction, and ambiguity (including endings).

Unwilling to address:
For fanfiction, I’m unable to beta read: fics relating to 15x19 and/or 15x20, post-canon fics, fics that would require the “John Winchester’s A+ Parenting” tag, human Castiel in canonverse, trans interpretations of the characters, Sam/Dean, RPF, A/B/O, reader insert fics, and the below.

For both fanfiction and original fiction, I'm unable to read: stories with a strong focus on explicit sexual content (porn without plot), stories in which the explicit sexual content focuses on kinks and/or fetishes, underage sexual content, abuse recovery narratives, stories with a focus on pregnancy/babies/children/parenthood.

Other notes:
As both a beta reader and an editor, I'm gentle, patient and friendly. My approach to editing is that I'm not here to tell you what to do, I'm here to help you tell the story you want to tell. I look forward to the chance to work with you—thank you for considering my auction!

Fanwork Details:
Can translate into Latin-America Spanish :) Mexico and America-pick. Specialist expertise in Theatre; sewing, tailoring, alterations, fashion history and flat pattern-making; goth and j-fashion subcultures; and self-proclaimed cinephile.

Relevant experience/background:
I'm a native and fluent Latin Spanish speaker who partially grew up in Mexico as well as the USA :) Specifically the states of San Luis Potosi in Mexico, and Texas in the USA. I've been working backstage in Theatre since 2015 and been altering costumes for the stage since 2016; aka I've been sewing for some 8 years and counting :) Flat-pattern making is my fave part, but I also adore working wardrobe run crew. I'm part of the goth and j-fashion subcultures! I graduated with a film degree in 2016 :b

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
I have a preference for soft, fluffy things, but I also love me some angst :) My absolute fave tropes are SoulmateAU, Hanahaki and Friends to Lovers. I also love making film and song references, so helping out with that would be magical! I have a pretty random repertoire of films for your cinephile nerdy characters :b Plus I guess the classic films any film school uni student should know (since I went through that, lol). If you are writing TheatreAUs, I'm your dude! If you're writing seamstress/tailor things, I am also your dude! And if it's sewing for the Theatre, then even more so! That is my literal day job.

Unwilling to address:
It's probably easier if we discuss the work's triggers first, since there are very few things that actually bother or trigger me. The one thing that I'm definitely not about is very VERY explicit descriptions of sexy things :0 And I'm also emetophobic, but even then I might only be bothered if it's SUPER descriptive :b

Other notes:
If you'd like to bounce ideas, I'm all here for you as well! I think some of the areas I'm knowledgeable about would be most fun if we have little chats about them :) Your prompt can be as specific or vague as you'd like, and I'd love to help you accomplish your best work! Feel free to ask me all the questions you need as you write your fic :) Or I might ask YOU all the questions I need as I translate your fic, to insure I convey the correct emotions you were going for in English, hehe. Lastly, for Mexico-pick, I can help mostly with basic cultural things, as most of my life was actually spent in the USA, but I can assure you I have some RANDOM things under my belt, hehe. Toll roads, slang, food and what restaurants are like, toilets... yeah, let's chat! 3

Expertise: Classical Music, specifically opera; voice and vocal technique

Translation: between English and German

Beta: I have an eye for flow, grammar, style, plot holes and plot consistency/continuity and I'm a little know-it-all who loves correcting people, but has the pedagogical knowledge to do so constructively. Also willing to just read, shower you with praise and cheer you on, if that's what you need.

Culture-picking: German

Relevant experience/background:
Expertise: I'm an opera singer and vocal teacher

Translation: German native speaker, C1 level English speaker (second language and my main writing language)

Beta: no experience yet, but I'm told my works are very well written, even though they're so far all unbetaed. I've been interested in betaing for a while now.

Characters/pairings of interest:
Crowley/Aziraphale (Good Omens, preference since that's what I'm most familiar with writing myself, but pretty much open)

Unwilling to address:
Kink, explicit or non-explicit sex (am willing to read, but won't give feedback apart from things like "too many hands" or "is that physically possible?"), noncon, abusive relationships, underage sex, unaddressed "problematic" themes like racism, misogyny, queerphobia, etc.

Other notes:
Please be detailed in what kind of support/feedback you need and how you need it. Just grammar and spelling? Or also the plot and chatacters? Gentle, brutally honest, or sterile bullet points? Keysmashes or (more or less) elaborate analyses? Do you want advice and ideas, or only feedback on what's already there?

For my expertise, I work best if you have specific questions that I can then infodump about (you will get the answer to your question, yes, but you will also get answers to questions you didn't ask. Be prepared).

Translation: I would like to be able to check in with you in case there are several possible interpretations/translations that might change the meaning, so that I can stay as close to your vision as possible.

Organizations this auction benefits: Bidder's choice of any of the listed groups (See full list.)

Type of fanwork: Fan labor
Subtype(s): Betaing, Culture picking, Sensitivity reading
Fandom(s): Any
Highest rating: E
Minimum Bid: $5
Audience: All ages
Length/scope: More than 50k words
Special interests (what is this?): F/F ships, Poly ships, Rarepairs

Fanwork Details:
Betaing: I can provide spelling and grammar proofreading, feedback on phrasing, tone, clarity, continuity, characterisation (if I am familiar with the canon), plot development, worldbuilding, as well as narrative, structural and/or emotional flow. I am happy to flail over the parts of your fic that I think work particularly well, but I may not be the beta for you if you are looking exclusively for a cheerleader experience.

Culture picking: For Danish culture specifically. I am also able to provide some Scandi/Nordic-picking at a more general level, but do not expect the same level of specificity.

Sensitivity reading: Chronic illness (Crohn's disease).

Relevant experience/background:
Betaing: I have betaed both fics and books written by friends for years. Check out my Beta Portfolio (linked above) to see a selection of published fics that I have betaed. If you're curious about whether my writing style is compatible with yours, you can check out my published fics (linked above). Additionally, I have a BA in English Studies and have several years of experience writing, editing, and proofreading academic texts in English.

Culture picking/sensitivity reading: I am Danish, born and raised. I was diagnosed with Crohn's almost 10 years ago, and while I can sensitivity read for the experience of suffering from a gastrointestinal illness, please note that my ability to provide feedback on depictions of treatment etc. is limited to my Danish/Nordic experience.

Additional notes about labor offered:
While I am open to working with any fandom and have consumed many canons, I am most familiar with and able to provide the most in-depth feedback (characterisation, worldbuilding, etc.) on the following fandoms:

Star Wars (primarily Prequels era, The Clone Wars, The Bad Batch, Rebels, The Mandalorian), A Song of Ice and Fire (including Game of Thrones/House of the Dragon), Critical Role, The Witcher (books and TV), Tolkien (primarily The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings), Avatar: The Last Airbender, Teen Wolf, Gentleman Jack, Hockey RPF (feel free to ask about specific players/ships prior to bidding!)

Characters/pairings of interest:
I am willing to work with any ships (and characters), but these are some of my favourites:

Star Wars: Cody/Obi-Wan, Boba/Din, Kallus/Zeb. ASOIAF: Sansa/Willas, Sansa/Jon, Sansa/Margaery. The Witcher: Geralt/Jaskier. Tolkien: Bilbo/Thorin, Fíli/Sigrid, Legolas/Gimli, Éomer/Lothíriel. ATLA: Sokka/Zuko, Katara/Yue. Hockey RPF: Matthew Tkachuk/Leon Draisaitl, Adam Larsson/Vince Dunn, Sidney Crosby/Evgeni Malkin.

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
I am willing to work most subjects, themes or tropes, but these are some of my favourites:

Hurt/comfort, most AUs, omegaverse, biological BDSM, slow burn, politics, enemies/rivals to lovers, arranged marriage/marriage of convenience, mpreg, incest

Unwilling to address:
Scat or urine, weight play, age play, age regression, vore, emetophilia, sounding, oviposition, tentacle sex, infidelity, genderbending, modern AUs (for historical or fantasy canons), high school/college AU (all fandoms)

Other notes:
Before I start betaing/culture picking/sensitivity reading your work, I'd like to have a chat with you in order to clarify your request details and what expectations to have of each other during our collaboration.

For the fan labour itself, I prefer to receive a draft and then take my time to read thoroughly and make various suggestions and comments, rather than doing a live chat or call session. However, I am happy to chat via Discord to help you brainstorm if you get stuck on a point in your fic. I am willing to take several passes upon request while you finish writing and editing your work. My preferred word processor is Google Docs, but another program with similar suggestion and/or commenting features will work as well.

Minimum Bid: $10
Audience: All ages
Length/scope: 10 - 20k words
Special interests (what is this?): Ambiguous endings, F/F ships, Gen (no ship) or platonic works, Rarepairs, Unhappy endings

Fanwork Details:
Yankpicking (both language and culture); Russia-picking (both language and culture); Beta reading (anything from developmental beta to SPaG)

Relevant experience/background:
⁃ I can of course do a basic beta read of a completed draft for story structure, canon resonance, &c: I am a very experienced beta reader: I’ve only been involved in the FAM ficsphere since fall of 22, but I have been beta reading for friends for 10+ years across multiple fandoms. BUT ALSO:

⁃ if you want help developing your ideas for given characters or relationships, I am happy to talk them through with you! (Especially if you’re interested in telling a canon-compliant or canon-compatible story, but even if you want to do something else.)

⁃ If you’re non-American and looking for someone to Yankpick your fic, I can do that! (I should note that I’ve only very briefly been to Texas and never to Houston; I am probably better positioned than a non-American to know how to research local-color details about Houston in whatever decade, but I can only offer secondhand knowledge.)

⁃ If you are writing a story set in Russia or with significant Russian plotlines, I can offer some limited expertise here too! My knowledge of the Russian language is pretty stale, but I can do some basic translation for you in either direction. I also lived in Moscow for several months in the late 90s, which means that I have a strange little capsule of first-hand experience in a highly FAM-relevant window of time.

Additional notes about labor offered:
In addition to the above: if you are under 30 and looking to write a story set in S2 or S3: I am very much not under 30 and can draw on my own memories of those periods to help you thicken up the realism of your setting.

Characters/pairings of interest:
I am pretty open here -- I am deeply intrigued by just about everyone on this show.

Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
I'm like Karen Baldwin: I live in the grey. And I like stories that live in the grey! (I am in fact happy to help you figure out how to entangle your story more deeply in various kinds of ambiguity, but I'm equally happy reading stories that are already there.)

Unwilling to address:
No character hate. Very happy to work on a story in which one character hates another -- and that can be for very good reasons! But if you want to write a story about how someone is just bad, I can't help you with that.

Other notes:
I'd love it if we can have a conversation relatively early in your writing process (though if the story you want help on is already far along that is of course also fine.) I'm happy to go 2 or 3 rounds with you if that would be helpful.

Auctions run from 8:00AM EST, 25 February 2025, to 8:00PM EST, 1 March 2025. Bids before or after this period are invalid and will not be counted. If you would like to bid on this auction:
