platonic works
Characters/pairings of interest:
Nimona:
I love both the movie and the graphic novel. I write in both universes
and also have my own phantom limb pain Nimonaverse, which is
movieverse + Meredith Blitzmeyer. I am happy to write in any of those
universes for you.
I enjoy Meredith Blitzmeyer, have a lot of fun writing from
movie!Nimona's POV, and have a soft spot for Nimona & Ballister (I
don't write them as father & daughter exactly for canon-compliant fic,
but still as found family). I like both movie and comic
Goldenheart/Blackloin.
Matching up characters who don't get to interact much in canon
(Ambrosius & Nimona, Ambrosius & Meredith, Meredith & Nimona,
Ballister & Queen Valerin, etc) would also be fun.
The Owl House:
In this fandom, I have a preference for mostly-genfic with a focus on
platonic relationships. In particular, I enjoy any combination of Luz,
Vee, Hunter, Camila, and King. I also like Raine Whispers, the Bat
Queen, Lilith Clawthorne, and too many other characters to list out.
:)
I do enjoy writing some shipfic for The Owl House, but only really
Aladarius, Raeda, and Camila/Manny. I'm fine writing some other ships
(Lumity, Huntlow, Veesha, etc) in the background, but usually not as
the main focus of the fic.
Subjects/theme/tropes of interest:
Much of my fic is slice-of-life and/or missing scenes.
Tone-wise, I write fluff and angst and everything in between.
On the fluff side, I especially enjoy writing domestic scenes and
curtain fic. I do like some humorous misunderstandings and puns/word
play.
On the angst/whump side, I tend to write grief, complicated family
relationships (including found family/adopted family), imperfect
people who mean well, reconciliation, starting over, being haunted by
the past, some suicidal ideation, and some alcohol/substance abuse.
For canonically disabled characters (like both Ballisters, post-canon
comic Ambrosius, Eda, Hunter, etc), I like acknowledging those
disabilities even when they're not necessarily a main focus of the
fic. For The Owl House, I consider lack of access to magic as akin to
disability (whether that's being born without any magic or having
access limited by sigils/curses).
I also enjoy doing some worldbuilding around magic, politics, and
history. Writing some rebellion against corrupt regimes and
institutions would be nice this year.
Unwilling to address:
I enjoy writing canon divergent AUs but feel less confident
writing most others (setting changes, role swaps, Modern, All Human,
Magical Creature, etc). You are welcome to suggest an AU idea, but I
would like to have alternative prompt options to choose from just in
case.
I have technically written a fankid before for a gift fic, but my
comfort level is very much prompt specific and I would like to have
alternative prompt options to choose from.
I am particular around Hunter & Darius and know others in the Owl
House fandom are also particular about their relationship pre and post
canon. If you suggest a Hunter & Darius-centric idea, I would want to
make sure our preferences are sufficiently in alignment and/or would
like to have alternative prompt options to choose from just in case. I
tend to personally like them with more baggage and with Darius as part
of a mix of parental figures post-canon instead of as Hunter's primary
or sole guardian.
Sorry, but I am unable to write romantic Nimona/Ballister, x reader,
omegaverse, or human mpreg (I am more comfortable exploring the
nuances of witch and demon reproduction in The Owl House, but would
still like to have alternative prompt options to choose from).
Other notes:
While I do enjoy writing drabbles and ficlets, unless you
specifically request that from me, I will plan to write a one shot or
short multi-chapter fic between 1500 and 5000 words. I feel
comfortable writing in both past and present tense. Most of my writing
is in third person limited, often with alternating points of view.
I can work with or without a specific prompt, but will be able to get
started faster with some guidance or a few possible ideas to choose
from (or your explicit blessing to be inspired by a fandom event
prompt — whether that's a fandom specific event or something
multi-fandom like Fluffbruary or Whumptober).
Especially if you don't have a specific idea in mind, I'd like to know
your preferences around fluff, angst, whump, humor, puns, etc as well
as any content you would prefer to avoid (child abuse, suicidal
ideation, alcohol/substance abuse, etc).
In the past, I have not usually done a lot of back and forth when
writing gift fic after being given some initial guidance, but might
have some clarifying questions for you and am happy to check in
periodically.
Auctions run from 8:00AM EST, 25 February 2025, to 8:00PM EST, 1 March
